My lifestyle choice…video games!

I just passed my 40th birthday, and like the big child that I am, one of the things I asked for was a Wii, which my man Danny got me. I often wonder how much longer I’ll be a video game player, but the truth is, as a child of the 1980s, I was basically there from the beginning of the video game craze, so it’s simply a part of who I am, a way of life. I’m so profound.

I already have the PS3, and if Xbox 360 ever gets any exclusive horror games that I MUST play, I’ll have to spring for one of those, too. My poor HDTV and 7.1 surround receiver are going to explode. Right now, they are loaded up with a cable box, recordable DVD player, Dreamcast, Playstation 2, Gamecube with a Gameboy Player attached, Xbox, Wii, PS3 and…brace yourself…my original Atari 2600! I have TWO switch boxes for component and HDMI cables, and two sets of game systems are sharing the same lines on the surround receiver via digital optical and coaxial cables—so if I were to turn on both game systems that share the same line at once, I can’t imagine what horrible sounds would go through my surround receiver.
